An assault rifle, steroids, $12,000 in cash and about $10,000 worth of cocaine were seized by detectives in a drug bust Tuesday.
Investigators with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on a Vale home, where they reported finding enough evidence to charge 22-year-old Chad Dylan Smith with 10 felony drug counts. Detectives say they found more than 2 ounces of cocaine, which they say would bring about $10,000 on the street.
They also found an AK-47 with a 30-round clip, steroids, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The arrest was part of an undercover investigation, and investigators allege Smith sold detectives more than 1 1/2 ounces of cocaine.
“This individual was not your typical street-level dealer,” said Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jon Propst. “He was selling larger quantities of the drug than we normally see.”
Smith faces felony charges for trafficking cocaine and for steroid possession. He is charged with two felony counts of selling and delivering cocaine and three felony counts each of possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances. He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was held on a $100,000 bond.
