Well isn’t that fucking nice
Aaannnnd…there goes skynet again
That’s just fucking bullshit, law enforcement shouldn’t have access to shit, get a warrant bitch.
can we say another revolution?!?!?!?!?
Federal government hasn’t needed a warrant for 3 decades. The PATRIOT ACT took away or 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th amendment rights.
That Patriot Act needs to be repealed. So sick of government over reach.
I don’t like most of what our government does and don’t defend them to much, but the certain things they do protect us more then we will ever know… so yeah we can keep sayin they suck, but yet we’re still here and have more rights and freedoms then most countries and we take a lot of shit for granted, especially the people who have never even left it’s soil, and seen how shitty other countries are.
I agree, they do, do some good things, I think it’s healthy to have distrust of any government, keeps them as honest as we can make them. Like with any organization, there are good and bad Apple’s.
I also think it’s patriotic to distrust government to an extent, a lot of this country was founded in distrust of government, and those that fight for our freedoms wether abroad, or the people that fight unconstitutional laws at home, all deserve respect.
Fuck them I read the first paragraph and they can go fuck themselves. Im a supporter of these guys and if this is true they want to read everything I type right now ?? They already have access to everything there isn’t much that’s private anymore so those older movies were they basically know your day down to seconds and were you are exactly all day ev
Sorry I was about to write 3 pages of how much I support privacy.
There we go again,it’s real easy say fuck them.
Just because we enjoy more freedoms than a lot of other countries, doesn’t mean we should give up what little freedoms we have left. Privacy is a huge part of those freedoms, gun ownership, freedom of speech, I think a lot of it would take care of itself if we took out special interest money, but to filter all messages and content, that’s a slippery slope, I don’t trust people, and people are what make up any government. They imprison whistle blowers, and honestly, you can be incarcerated for anything these days.
I’m saying don’t lose what we have, people are always looking for protection, people are scared, and a scared populace is an easily manipulated populace.
All anyone has to do is look back at ancient Rome, how easy it was to go from a republic to a dictatorship.
My dad fought in Vietnam, he’s very proud of that fact, as he should be, but he will be the first to question anything the government does, honestly they have not done enough to take care of those guys.
What exactly have you actually “gave up” @Youts?
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, Most of us, eat what we want to, work where we want to, live how we want to, live where we want to, buy what we want to, drive what we want to, act how we want to,say what we want to…
How many of us have publicly said what we want too? I will go out on a limb and guess a lot of us haven’t said exactly what we have wanted to in public. Look back at the early 1900’s at what was available to buy, and tell me we haven’t been restricted. Look at proabition. People weren’t getting what they want then. It’s not what we are not able to do now, it’s what we may not be able to do in the future. This government has put diseases in poor areas to see how it affected people. I say anytime I need to buy a license to fish, hunt, and so forth is infringing on our rights.
I have seen people locked up for causing a public nuisance, disorderly conduct is a very vague law.
Why give up privacy? Why let them have more power when they don’t need it. Why make it easier to allow someone to incarcerate you without proper warrants, why give up what freedoms we have I think is what is most important.
Look at life now and in the 50’s, back when you could support a family with one income, but legislation and free trade ruined that, wages haven’t kept up with inflation, but they continue to push tax breaks for the super wealthy.
I’ll go out on a limb and say a lot of what ails society started when parents needed two incomes and now strangers at a day care are the ones raising our kids.
Just my 2 cents, I’m more than willing to listen and change my mind, but I’m not willing to give up freedom for security. Government in my eyes is now just a tool for the wealthy, and governments inability to restrict corporate money just shows how deep it goes.
What can you do, without needing the government’s ok? Can’t even put up a fence around your house without the government’s ok.
Lol I’ll get off my soap box now!
I agree. It feels as though our rights are being stripped due to this virus. No doubt the virus is real and has caused a lot of sickness and death. However, keeping us in basically house arrest isn’t sustainable. It’s certainly a tough balance between safety for high risk individuals and the ability for others to put food on the table. At least we are now seeing states start to open back up, but some are just being unreasonable (e.g., Michigan). No one really knows how this will all play out, but we can’t just keep printing money to throw at the problem. It’s a risk, but believe we need to all be able to get back to work. Everyone is essential!
